Get into Teaching
To become a teacher in England you must complete initial teacher training (ITT). The route you chose to take will be specific to the age group and the subject you would like to teach.
TVTSA work with several providers giving trainees the opportunity to gain QTS, PGCE and Masters credits in Primary Teaching or a number of secondary subjects.
This can be done through the following routes
- University led PGCE
- School led PGCE known as School Direct
For both routes into teaching it is useful to have built up a number of school experience days. These are a good way to find out if teaching is for you, and gives you opportunity to spend time in different schools. TVTSA offer a host of school experience days both in primary and secondary schools. This is done through the school experience programme.
Our mission is to train well qualified people to become outstanding teachers.
